Además del estudio de la propia pintura, su trayectoria se ha centrado en el concepto de la intimidad (de manera transversal en sus diferentes proyectos) y en reivindicación de valores como el empoderamiento femenino.

Her work, mostly centered on painting, also (transversally) engages the concept of intimacy and vindicates values such as women's empowerment.

» Elena Cardona es fotógrafa, poeta, docente e investigadora. Candidata doctoral del departamento de Hispanic Studies en University of California, Riverside. Magister Scientiarum en Estudios Literarios, por la Universidad Central de Venezuela. Sus áreas de estudio incluyen Semiótica Visual, Filosofía y Pedagogías Críticas Basadas en el Arte, con énfasis en fotografía, poesía, performance, cultura contemporánea, medios digitales y América Latina. En la actualidad, su proyecto de investigación Poéticas de memorias migrantes, apoyado por el College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences y el Center for Ideas & Society de University of California at Riverside, explora el papel de la fotografía, la imagen poética y los medios digitales en la performatividad de la memoria en contextos de migración forzada, exilio y violencia traumática. Desde la experimentación fotopoética este proyecto se extiende en Measures of the Distance, una exploración transmedial que integra collages, videos, poemas y paisajes sonoros.

» Elena Cardona is a photographer, poet, teacher, and researcher. She is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Hispanic Studies at the University of California, Riverside. Magister Scientiarum in Literary Studies, from the Central University of Venezuela. Her areas of study include Visual Semiotics, Philosophy, and Art-Based Critical Pedagogies, with an emphasis on photography, poetry, performance, contemporary culture, digital media, and Latin America. This horizon had orientated her interdisciplinary teaching practice and two books of which she is the author: Dramaturgias del mal. Conrad and Coppola (2007), and Entremiradas. Visualidad e imaginario cinematográfico en la narrativa venezolana de la modernidad (2009). Currently, her research project Poetics of Migrant Memories, supported by the College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences and the University of California at Riverside Center for Ideas & Society, explores the role of photography, the poetic image, and digital media in the performativity of memory in contexts of forced migration, exile and traumatic violence. From photopoetic experimentation, this project extends to Measures of the Distance, a transmedial exploration that integrates collages, videos, poems, and soundscapes.

Se doctoró en Princeton University y completó estudios posdoctorales en University of Southern California como becaria de la Mellon Foundation. Enseñó en San Francisco State University donde fue Chair del Departamento de Lenguas Extranjeras y regresó a Argentina en 2012 gracias al programa de repatriación de investigadores. Actualmente es investigadora de CONICET y Profesora Titular de la Universidad Nacional de las Artes. Tradujo a Boris Groys, Eduardo Cadava, Jonathan Crary, Timothy Morton y Eric Graff Zivin. Es co-autora de Imágenes de vida, relatos de muerte. Eva Perón, cuerpo y política (1989), autora de El tiempo de la máquina: retratos, paisajes y otras imágenes de la nación (2011) y de varios ensayos sobre fotografía y literatura que abordan problemas como paisaje y residualidad, fantasmas e imaginación política, activismo y performatividad, publicados en October, Iberoamericana y Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies, entre otras revistas. Desde 2016 integra el colectivo feminista Ni Una Menos.

» Paola Cortes Rocca specializes in the intersection between writing and visuality. She received her doctorate from Princeton University and completed her postdoc as a Mellon Fellow at the University of Southern California. She taught at San Francisco State University where she was Chair of the Department of Foreign Languages and moved to Argentina as part of the 2012 Repatriation Program. She is currently a researcher at CONICET and a professor at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes. She translated into Spanish works by Boris Groys, Eduardo Cadava, Jonathan Crary, Timothy Morton, and Erin Graff Zivin. She is the co-author of Imágenes de vida, relatos de muerte. Eva Perón, cuerpo y política (1989), the author of El tiempo de la máquina: retratos, paisajes y otras imágenes de la nación (2011) and of essays that address literature and photography from perspectives such as landscape and residuality, ghosts and political imagination, activism and performativity, published in magazines such as October, Iberoamericana, and Journal of Latin American Cultural Studies, among others. Since 2016 she has been a member of the feminist collective Ni Una Menos.

Palencia Gutiérrez es doctora en estudios hispánicos por la Universidad de California, Riverside (2022), y trabaja como Assistant Professor en el departamento de Literaturas y Lenguajes Modernos de la universidad California State University, Fullerton. También trabaja como editora gerente para la revista Spanish Portuguese Review, de la Asociación Americana de Profesores de Español y Portugués (AATSP). Judit ha recibido formación académica en España, Irlanda y Estados Unidos, en el campo literario, filosófico, lingüístico y pedagógico. Sus intereses incluyen psicoanálisis, filosofía política, memoria histórica, justicia transicional y pedagogías críticas. En su tiempo libre le gusta hacer fotografía nocturna, practicar yoga, tocar la batería y cuidar de sus mascotas Noam y Agustín.

» Judit R. Palencia Gutiérrez received her PhD in Hispanic Studies from the University of California-Riverside (2022) and is Assistant Professor at the Department of Modern Literatures and Languages at California State University-Fullerton. She also works as managing editor for the Spanish Portuguese Review journal, from the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (AATSP). Judit has received academic training in Spain, Ireland and the United States, in the literary, philosophical, linguistic and pedagogical fields. Her academic interests include psychoanalysis, political philosophy, historical memory, transitional justice, and critical pedagogies. In her free time, she enjoys night photography, yoga, playing the drums and spending time with her pets Noam and Agustín.

» Cecilia Palmiero obtuvo su MA y su doctorado en el Departamento de Español y Portugués de Princeton University en 2009; en 2014 completó sus estudios posdoctorales en la Universidad de Buenos Aires como parte del programa de repatriación del CONICET, del cual actualmente es investigadora. Ha enseñado teoría crítica, literatura y estudios culturales latinoamericanos en la Universidad de Buenos Aires, en Birkbeck (Universidad de Londres), y ahora lo hace en el programa de NYU en Buenos Aires y en los programas de posgrado en Literatura Latinoamericana y Género en la Universidad de Tres de Febrero. Es autora de los libros de investigación Desbunde y felicidad. De la cartonera a Perlongher (Buenos Aires, Título, 2011/Rio de Janeiro, EDUERJ, 2021), Néstor Perlongher. Correspondencia (Buenos Aires, Mansalva, 2016) y también de la novela Cat Power. La toma de la Tierra (Buenos Aires, TNM, 2017). Participa del colectivo Ni Una Menos. Junto con Fernanda Laguna es curadora del archivo "Mareadas en la marea: diario íntimo de una revolución feminista."

» Cecilia Palmiero received her MA and PhD from Princeton University's Department of Spanish and Portuguese (2009) and a repatriation postdoctoral degree from CONICET at the University of Buenos Aires (2014). She is a professor of contemporary Latin American Cultural Studies and Contemporary Theory at NYU in Buenos Aires and at National University of Tres de Febrero (UNTREF) in the graduate program on Latin American Literary Studies and in the Graduate Program on Gender and Sexuality at the same university. She has published the books Desbunde y felicidad. De la cartonera a Perlongher (Buenos Aires, Título, 2011/Rio de Janeiro, EDUERJ, 2021), Néstor Perlongher. Correspondencia (Buenos Aires, Mansalva, 2016), and the novel Cat Power. La toma de la Tierra (Buenos Aires, TNM, 2017). She is a member of the Ni Una Menos collective. Together with Fernanda Laguna, she conducts the living archive project High on the Tide: Diary of a Feminist Revolution.

» Gwendolen Pare es candidata doctoral en el departamento de Español y Portugués en la Universidad de California en Irvine. En su disertación con el título "Care beyond cure: baroque horizons of incurability and popular care" ("Cuidados incurables: horizontes de incurabilidad y cuidados populares") estudia literatura y poesía desde los setenta hasta el presente en las que enfermedades incurables o síntomas persistentes nos desafían a repensar conceptos y prácticas como comunidad, cuidado, solidaridad, resistencia y crítica. Pare tiene un grado en ciencias políticas de la Universidad de Granada (2015) y una maestría en estudios culturales latinoamericanos de University of London (2016).

» Gwendolen Pare is a Ph.D. candidate at the Spanish and Portuguese department at University of California, Irvine. Her dissertation, tentatively titled "Care beyond cure: baroque horizons of incurability and popular care" studies literature and poetry from the 1970s to the present in which incurable illness or stubborn symptoms pose questions for community, care and solidarity, resistance and critique. Pare has a bachelor's in political science from Universidad de Granada (2015) and a master's in Latin American cultural studies from University of London (2016).

» Mell Rivera Díaz es candidato al doctorado en Spanish en la Universidad de California en Irvine. Su trabajo académico explora la construcción histórica del concepto de mestizaje desde principios de siglo XX hasta el presente a través de un análisis de poesía puertorriqueña escrita en la isla y en la diáspora, en español, en inglés, y en spanglish. Es autor del poemario de ir sé que vine (2022).

» Mell Rivera Díaz is a Ph.D candidate in the Spanish program at the University of California, Irvine. His academic work explores the historical construction of the concept of mestizaje from the early XXth century up until the present through an analysis of Puerto Rican poetry written on the island and in the diaspora, in Spanish, English, and Spanglish. He is the author of the poetry book de ir sé que vine (2022).

» Vanessa Vargas es bailarina, educadora de danza y comunicadora social venezolana, con sede entre Nueva York y Barcelona. Su investigación combina la teoría y la práctica, examinando la danza y el performance a través del periodismo, los estudios culturales y la teoría social. Vanessa tiene estudios profesionales en danza de la Escuela Taller de Danza de Caracas, Licenciada en medios de comunicación y periodismo de la Universidad Central de Venezuela, Maestría en medios de comunicación e investigación social de la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, y en estudios de Performance de la Universidad de Nueva York. Es candidata doctoral en Artes del espectáculo, en la Universidad de Barcelona. Como educadora de danza, investigadora y académica, Vanessa presenta charlas y conferencias, facilita talleres para fusionar teoría y práctica en el aula de clase. Desde 2014 es bailarina independiente para el Museo de Arte Moderno de Nueva York. Ha participado en exposiciones que incluyen a Lygia Clark, James Lee Byars, David Lamelas, Yoko Ono y Simone Forti.

» Vanessa Vargas is a Venezuelan dancer, performer, dance educator and researcher, based between New York, US and Barcelona, Spain. Her research blends theory and practice, examining dance and performance through journalism, cultural studies, and social theory. Vanessa holds a BFA in dance from the Escuela Taller de Danza de Caracas, a BA in Mass Media and journalism from the Universidad Central de Venezuela, an M.A in Mass Media and Social Research from the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello, and an M.A in performance studies from New York University. She's a PhD candidate in Performing Arts at Universidad de Barcelona. As a dance educator, researcher, and academic, Vanessa presents talks and conferences, facilitating workshops to fuse theory and practice in the classroom. Since 2014, she is a freelance dancer for the Museum of Modern Art in New York. She has participated in exhibitions including Lygia Clark, James Lee Byars, David Lamelas, Yoko Ono, and Simone Forti.

» Isabella Vergara es candidata doctoral en el departamento de Español y Portugués de la Universidad de California, Irvine. En su disertación titulada Immaterial Traces: Photographs, Archives, Dust (1980-2010) estudia prácticas intermediales en la literatura y el arte visual latinoamericano contemporáneo, con un enfoque en Chile, Colombia y México. Sus temas de interés incluyen las narrativas visuales, teorías de la imagen, la relación entre fotografía y otros medios que cuestionan narrativas oficiales de la historia a través del archivo y lo documental en las obras de Oscar Muñoz, Cecilia Vicuña, Graciela Iturbide, Mario Bellatín, Valeria Luiselli, entre otros. Vergara se graduó de literatura de la Universidad de los Andes en Bogotá (2015) y tiene una maestría en estudios latinoamericanos de la Universidad de California, Irvine (2018).
